Two Month Update

Mr. Liam is a little over two months old now! My, my. Where has the time gone?

Liam had his two month checkup on the 23rd. He did great and is growing well which means that breastfeeding is going successfully. This was also the dreaded immunization appointment. He had to get three shots and one oral vaccine. He wasn't too happy but once he ate, he acted like nothing ever happened.

He measured in at 13 pounds (63rd percentile) and 23.5 inches long (57th percentile). His head circumference is 16 inches (50th percentile).

He hit all of the milestones but my favorite by far is smiling. He smiles a lot in the morning when he first wakes up and it just gets me every time. I love it! He also laughed for the first time this month after taking a massive poop. Typical boy!

Now it's time to share pictures of the lovely boy!

When it rains, It pours...Unless you're Will, Then rain is just rain

I am what you would call a "worrier". If something goes wrong, I worry it about it until it is either resolved or until something else takes my attention. I guess I'm an "obsessive worrier".

So throughout our short marriage, we've had a lot of trials and obstacles. Things haven't been easy and it doesn't help that we were successful at getting pregnant so soon after getting married (hooray for our honeymoon baby). Not only were we planning our lives together, we were also planning for a new life and an upcoming deployment. I definitely think that our problems have helped to make our relationship stronger but Will and I tend to handle things differently. While a problem can seem like the end of the world to me, he's far more calm and optimistic.

To be honest, if it wasn't for Will, I think I would never get any sleep and would spend all my time worrying about things that may or may not be in my control. It's this calm and optimism (among other things) that make me love Will more and more each day. Without him, not only would I not have an amazing support system but I also wouldn't have another lovely man in my life, Mr. Liam.

So, in honor of the two of the most important men in my life, enjoy a few pictures :)

(p.s. baby, if you're reading this, love you lots)

Happy Valentine's Day

Although everyday should be filled with love, we would like to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. My wonderful husband sent me flowers and my little man had a smile on his face randomly throughout the day so today was perfect. It's always good to have a day to remember the people you love and I'm glad to have each and every one of those close to us in our lives. We've been blessed with great friends and family and hope that they feel loved on this special day.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Back to Normal...

After Liam's birth, I was really excited because I didn't seem to experience any kind of "baby blues". Well, it seems like I'm just a late bloomer. In my last post, I mentioned that I have been in a bit of a funk. Things have slowly gotten better (after quite a bit of a rough patch) and I'm starting to feel like myself again. Liam slept a little longer last night and I was able to put in a few loads of laundry AND do my makeup this morning. Liam had a weigh-in this morning so it was nice to leave the house feeling put together.

Oh, and by the way, Liam weighed in at a healthy 12 lbs. Crazy to think that almost eight weeks ago, he only weighed 7 lbs, 9 oz. He's growing and changing so much that I'm scared I'm going to miss something. I can only imagine how Will feels considering that he is so far away. Luckily, we'll be able to capture some of his moments through pictures and videos. Before Will returned to Iraq, we took some family photos and I plan to have pictures taken every three months until Liam turns a year old. Our photographer, Melissa Bradfield, is currently editing our family photos and put a new one up today.

Liam's precious little face melts my heart every time :)

Take care everyone!

Sleep? What's that?

So Liam and I have had a rough couple of days. I've been super cranky and stressed and so has Liam. We're a bundle of fun right now! Okay, not really. When it comes down to it, I'm pretty sure I am sleep deprived. Liam still wakes up every two hours to nurse as well as nursing regularly during the day. He takes quite a few naps throughout the day but during that time, I usually try to catch up on housework, eat, get on the internet, etc., then when I'm ready to head to bed, he's up to nurse at 12, 2, 4 and 6am. I'm hoping that Liam starts sleeping longer at night soon. That way, I'm better able to take care of him during the day instead of being incredibly tired.

And speaking of sleep, I just started nodding off while typing so it's time for me to sneak a few minutes of sleep before Liam wakes up to nurse.

Welcome!

Hi everyone! So, Will and I decided to start a family blog. Exciting, huh? Pretty much I thought that it would be a neat way for family members near and far (and Daddy C. while he's deployed) to keep up with our awesome new addition, Baby Liam :)

I'll try to update regularly with photos and just my day-to-day life with Liam. Feel free to leave comments and keep us up to date on what's going on in your lives as well!
