Depression is No Fun

Over the last few weeks, I have been feeling a bit depressed. I guess "a bit" is an understatement actually. It's so hard to put into words how I'm feeling and what exactly is the "problem". I think it's just a lot of things building up, causing me to feel useless and lost. I feel as though I have no direction, no purpose, no future but when I type it out, it feels so over dramatic and exaggerated.
Please don't get me wrong. I love my family but there are days were it seems I do absolutely nothing except take care of others. I'm hoping this is just some weird funk I'm going through but just in case, I think it warrants a trip to the therapist. Has anyone else dealt with depression or postpartum depression before?

  1. I have dealt with depression and postpartum depression. I was on some medications for both of them. Eventually I found a balance (working out was a huge stress relief) If you ever need someone to talk to please don't hesitate to call or text or message on FB.

    1. Thank you Katie. This has really been a difficult time for me especially since it's hard for me to admit when I need help. I'm just ready to feel like myself again and sometimes it feels good to vent a little, be vulnerable and realize that you're not alone.

  2. Sure hope you are feeling better. I haven't checked the blog lately and really enjoyed the pics. Congrats to Bill on the promotion. You will be in my thoughts for a positive outcome on the depression.

    1. Thank you Grandma Joyce! I am feeling better and I think that has helped with the dynamics of our home. Liam is taking Easter pictures this weekend so expect to see some soon :)
